Appealing or Appalling?
His wife is the only believer in the family. She is eight years older and it is her second marriage. His parents didn’t accept her at first, so they lived together instead. After a few years, his parents accepted her and even suggested they get married. So he bought a house in his hometown and put it in her name. His mother questioned his decision to put it in her name and his wife overheard. Now, everytime the couple fights the wife brings this incident up again. Though a rocky start, the mother-in-law has tried to make it up, but the wife refuses to forgive her. So, now her unbelieving husband is perplexed. His wife is the believer, but his mother shows more kindness than his wife. Seems like believing doesn’t help much, so why believe?
We need to be mindful of our walk. We testify with our lives, but what kind of testimony is it? Is the love of God indelibly marked on our lives? Seen in our words and actions? Is our life appealing or appalling?
