ABOUT
Prayer Resolution
Thousands of believers across many languages and cultures have experienced God’s freedom through Prayer Resolution. Hundreds of “helpers’’ have sat with fellow believers and walked them through the process of resolving past hurts and lies. While it is primarily a tool to be used by everyday believers, it is also used by pastors, missionaries, and counselors in their ministries.
Prayer Resolution has been taught on 6 continents in 12 different languages. Books and resources are available in English, Chinese, Mongolian, German, and Spanish.

"God has used Prayer Resolution, paired with the love of safe helpers, in my life to set me free from issues that sabotaged my walk with Him, my relationship with others, and beliefs about myself. It is a privilege and joy to train and mentor others in these steps toward freedom from evil forces. The process itself is a proclamation of the eternal Gospel. And, because the Gospel is universal, these Spirit-powered discipleship tools work anytime with anyone in any ethnic group." - Tanja

Board of Directors
Michael Banker
Board Member
from Connie Smith:
Mike Banker is our new Executive Director of Cross Resources. Mike and Denise Banker have been a part of PR and Cross Resources since 2003. Their roots are in MN where they currently live in the Minneapolis area. They have six adult children, five of whom live in the area and are enjoying weekly interaction with their seven grandchildren. Mike is an engineer by profession. One of his last professional jobs was in China; when he left the secular job, they joined a mission and continued living, working, and ministering there for 20+ years. The last 12 years their focus was bringing PR to China and Mongolia where they left a strong ongoing presence among the nationals. They were ‘urged’ out in 2019. Denise is a very gifted teacher, homeschooling and teaching in a small international Christian school in China, and since their return has been teaching 3rd grade in a Christian school. Richard and I have considered this precious couple as part of our family since they spent a school year with us in Virginia. Both Mike and Denise attribute God’s use of PR individually with the salvation of their marriage; the change was so remarkable several of their children became interested and sought God’s help in their own lives. Both are gifted Safe Helpers and continue to do sessions, through usually not together due to their conflicting schedules, etc. We feel greatly blessed to have had Mike as an integral part of the vision of PR and the carrying out of that vision focusing on continuing with the oversite, mentoring, and encouragement of the Chinese and Mongolian nationals to make Prayer Resolution their own. With Mike’s vast giftings, experience, and vision we welcome him to the Board of Directors.
Teresa Brown
Chairman
from Connie Smith:
Teresa Brown is our new Board Chair. Although Teresa is our daughter and grew up on the mission field, she was an adult just graduating college when God brought PR into our lives. She grasped the importance of these tools early and has been a huge supporter. She went through her life with a family friend as her Safe Helper. Teresa felt the hand of God on her life very young. She had all of Wycliffe’s training as a linguist, Bible translator, and cross-cultural worker. She and her husband were assigned to a sign language project in Thailand. That was very short-lived however due to circumstances beyond her control. Teresa basically raised her three children in a dysfunctional home, during which time she had several PR ‘tune-ups’. Her two eldest, the moment they turned 18 and were free to do so, asked for PR. Then as a single- parent, sometimes working as many as three jobs at a time, also took the PR seminar. About the time she was free to do so CR had a need for some administrative help. Teresa volunteered to take it over in her spare time. As PR grew so did the work and responsibilities of CR and so did the time it took to do the work, so she gave up the third job so to speak in order to continue the admin of CR. As she took on more and more of the admin work, it freed Richard to do more of his stuff. Presently, living in AZ, she has a very responsible job. And with two grandsons who live close by, she is relishing her role as grandmother. Teresa’s giftings on one side are in the details such as the finances and government reporting, and the flexibility to go with the flow and keeping on top of everything. And on the other an open, loving heart encompassing everyone, particularly the vulnerable. She has the ability to think outside the box (but still color within the lines) and manages to find solutions when none seem to be there. Teresa has been on the Board for some time and will continue to be a valued voice as the new Chair of the Board.
Gary Nisius
Board Member
from Connie Smith:
Gary and Amanda Nisius have also been a part of our PR family for over 20 years. Gary has served on the Board for most of those years. They both have had cross-cultural experience as missionaries. Gary trained as a teacher and then as a medical doctor. They have five children. The three older ones are married and are currently living nearby in the Minneapolis area. Being strong family people Gary and Amanda are enjoying being near their grandkids. The two younger ones are siblings adopted from Latin America (Amanda is from Guatemala and so the Nisius family is bilingual). The very troubled background from which they came has produced many challenges all around. But the love poured into them and the strength and power of God in this family has given them a chance at a full life as they enter into adulthood. When introduced to PR all those years ago, both felt God’s resolution of issues in their own lives and that difference caused the three older children to each seek their own resolution, training, and use of these tools in their own lives. The younger ones also sought God’s resolution to their negative past. For many years Gary and Amanda were powerful Safe Helpers, but the raising of these troubled children took precedence when God brought this sibling group into their lives. Gary has a quiet strength, an insatiable interest in the validity of the details, good common sense, a heart full of love and compassion, and a great deal of experience in many areas. He continues to be a great asset to the Board.
Donna Marcue
Board Member
from Connie Smith:
Donna and Bob Marcue have also been a part of the PR/CR family for over 20 years. Donna was a special ed teacher for many years, developed both a post-abortion and an abused women ministry, organized most of the PR seminars held in Minnesota, was a very busy and effective Safe Helper, continues to add to the Safe Helper Handbook she compiled, has helped to finish the expanded cleansing manuscript, and has been a tremendous encouragement over the years to both Richard and to me. Donna has personally experienced the resolution of personal issues through PR. She has invested many hours of love and work in the advancement of PR. She and Bob, a retired pilot, have been strong supporters of the work. They have two adult children and a sweet bunch of grandchildren. They now divide the year 6mo. in Florida and 6mo in Minnesota. With her skills of patience, love, and thinking outside the box, her flare for picking out the core pieces, thinking of the smallest details, her ability to encourage, and her interest in seeing people set free, Donna will be a great asset to the Board.
Tim Brannigan
Board Member
from Connie Smith:
Tim and Nancy Brannagan have been an integral part of our lives since about 1991, when they with their two preschool children took part in the Semester Abroad program which for various reasons that year was held in Kenya. We were very impressed by them as a couple, as parents and as potential cross-cultural workers. They spent 10 years in Ethiopia, as part of creating Bible school down country with a well know mission. We met up face to face again in the early 2000’s in MN where he was one of the pastors at a large church where many of our MN PR people came from. Sometime in there Tim had earned his Doctorate. He and Nancy also became acquainted with PR, had the training, experienced healing/resolution, and became great advocates for PR. To this day they are always doing sessions with someone. When both the children went off to college Tim and Nancy left the pastorate and returned to missionary status. For several reasons they set up their home base here in the States; first in NC and presently in MI. As members of a faith based mission, Tim makes many trips a quarter to out of the way places teaching pastors how to reach and teach oral societies. Nancy seldom travels with him but maintains the home front, volunteering her expertise as a bookkeeper, and is always involved in sessions with someone. They are living near their daughter and family in Hillsdale, MI and enjoy their five grandchildren. Their son’s family lives in Hong Kong and so they don’t see their grandson and granddaughter as frequently. Tim’s quiet strength, people skills, experience in various mission organizations, gifts, and vision all make for a valued member of the Board.

The Story of
PRAYER RESOLUTION
The Founders
Prayer Resolution was developed by Richard and Connie Smith through their time as missionaries, Bible translators, and ministering to other Christian workers. This is the story of how Prayer Resolution came to be.
On November 23, 2020, Richard left us and is with his heavenly Father, after a three-year battle with complications due to Shingles. We are so thankful for Richard, for his love, his friendship, and his teaching. You can read tributes to his life and work here.
